Aria Super High Roller Bowl is a sell out

The Super High Roller Bowl at the Aria casino is quickly becoming a special event on the poker calendar, and while the buy in has been dropped from $500,000 to $300,000 this year, there are still many reasons why this event is special. 47 of the 49 names have now been announced, with the prize pool set at $15 million, and 1st place money set at $5 million. The event will take place between May 29th and June 1st, kicking off at the same time as the WSOP, and creating even more excitement for the annual poker festivities that come around every summer.

For one thing, the players involved will combine an interesting mix of wealthy poker enthusiasts and some of the most gifted poker players alive, meaning there will be an abundance of star names and underdogs to root for.  Last year, Brian Rast bested a field of 43 runners to walk away with the $7.5 million 1st prize.

One of the key reasons why this years event has sold out all 49 seats three months before the tournament begins, is the fact that there will be no rake, and furthermore, the sponsors have added an extra $300,000 to the prize pool. This means that even a player who is slightly below the average skill level of the field, can still have a slight profit margin. The Aria is home to the high stakes “Ivey Room” and offers daily tournaments, but this particular tournament will be a jewel in their crown, generating interest worldwide.
