APT Vietnam Ho Chi Minh 2019 right around the corner

Ever since the Asian Poker Tour stormed into Ho Chi Minh City in January 2018, Vietnam has become one of its prime destinations. To date, the tour has held four events in the bustling city with a fifth just around the corner.

Coming July 3 to 14, suit up for APT Vietnam Ho Chi Minh 2019. Once again, the festival takes place at the country’s most popular poker venue, the Pro Poker Club. Over the course of twelve days, 25 events are lined up and VND 14 Billion (~US$ 600,000) in guaranteed prize pools. Events to mark down are the Main Event, Championships Event, and the seven High Rollers. As of the tour’s recently concluded Seoul, Korea series, the Shot Clock will be implemented on all events and of course the Ante Big Blind format.

Let’s take a closer look at the upcoming festival.

Guaranteed Events

The stars of the series are the Main Event and the Championships Event. These are the tour’s top of the line tournaments and are praised by many as having the best structure in Asia. The events run back-to-back and both are equipped with a hefty guarantee.

Main Event – VND 8 Billion guarantee

The Main Event gets on the floor first. This event never fails to draw the largest numbers. During the inaugural visit, it set a tour record of 664 entries. Due to this, there are three starting days scheduled at every Vietnam stop. The Main Event runs from July 4 to 9. It comes with a VND 8 Billion (~US$ 343,000) guarantee. Buy-in is VND 22,000,000 (~US$ 950). Schedule below:

Day 1A: Thursday, July 4
Day 1B: Friday, July 5
Day 1C: Saturday, July 6
Day 2: Sunday, July 7
Day 3: Monday, July 8
Final 8: Tuesday, July 9

Championships Event – VND 6 Billion guarantee

The Championships Event picks up right when the Main Event concludes. It takes place from July 10 to 14. On the tour’s previous visit, ex-Starcraft pro Lim Yohwan aka Boxer captured his second APT Championships Event title. Schedule breakdown:

Day 1A: Wednesday, July 10
Day 1B: Thursday, July 11
Day 2: Friday, July 12
