As always the festival offers an exciting roster of events however what everyone will be eyeing is the Main Event – VND 6 Billion Guaranteed (US$261,300). Last January saw 664 entries for the 3B guaranteed Main Event making it the largest attendance in the tour’s history. With the guarantee now doubled, expectations are high for another massive turnout.

Main Event details

For a rundown on the featured tournament, the Main Event runs from July 13 to July 18. Buy-in is VND 22,000,000 (~US$960). Players can jump in the game by signing up to any of the three starting days offered and up until the first hour of Day 2.

See the schedule below:

Day 1A: Friday, July 13 @ 1pm
Day 1B: Saturday, July 14 @ 1pm
Day 1C: Sunday, July 15 @ 1pm
Day 2A: Monday, July 16 @ 1pm
Day 2B: Monday, July 16 @ 7pm

Five Main Event packages via CoinPoker and other promos

Another way to secure a spot in the Main Event is through APT sponsor CoinPoker, a cryptocurrency-based online poker room. CoinPoker Voyage to Vietnam satellites to the qualifier are currently running. The Main Event qualifier will be held on July 11 at 17:00 EEST with 5 Main Event packages up for grabs. Packages include Main Event Day 1B seat, 3 night’s accommodation, and travel expense allowance of €250 paid in equivalent CHP value.

Last month CoinPoker offered two promos at APT Korea Seoul and will be extending the same to Main Event players in Vietnam: the Main Event Rake Back and the Last Man Standing promo. In Korea, Paul Hong was the first beneficiary of the Last Man Standing award winning a Main Event seat to APT Vietnam Ho Chi Minh Championships. The next winner will receive a Main Event seat to APT Korea in Incheon.

Schedule of events

In addition to the Main Event is another featured tournament, the Championships Event. This event runs back-to-back with the main, taking place from July 18 to July 22. Buy-in is VND 33,000,000 (~US$1,440).

For players that prefer the exclusivity of small fields and big returns, there are two CoinPoker High Rollers events taking place. The first one packs a hefty punch with its buy-in of VND 107,500,000 (~US$4,685). That will surely narrow the field to to heavy hitters and top players. The second CoinPoker High Rollers event trims down to a buy-in VND 43,000,000 (~US$1,872).

Making an appearance at the APT for the first time is the NLH Single Day Ante BB. With the Ante BB growing in popularity around the world, the APT will offer two events featuring this new format.
