Joining in the online poker boom is one of Asia’s leading active poker networks in the live tournament scene. With a huge majority opting to cancel their live schedules in the upcoming months, many operators have resorted to online platforms to cater to their players’ demands.
Asia Poker League (APL) announced this week its biggest event so far entitled “Clash of Leagues”.
The official online tournament scheduled to run from May 7-11, 2020 will run on its own APL Poker application recently released late last year. Operating on play money currency, the application uses a standard rate of 1000 Gold: 1 USD for public games.
10 events + One Freeroll
A total of ten No limit Hold’em events will take place throughout the 5-day period with entries ranging from 22,000 Gold (~USD 22) to as high as 550,000 Gold (~USD 550) for the APL Super Highroller concluding event. Additionally, players of different bankroll levels will be given an opportunity to join in on the action with the festival’s USD 2,000 opening freeroll event.
100 Million Gold GTD Main Event ( $100k GTD)
The Clash of Leagues series for the most part is built around its highlighting Main Event featuring a 100 Million Gold (~USD 100,000) guarantee for an affordable buy-in of 55,000 Gold (~USD 55). Multiple satellites for this event will run beginning April 27th up until May 9th for as low as USD 1.1, allowing players to win a seat for cheap. A satellite ticket for APL Poker’s Sunday 10M GTD will also be given to all unique entries for APL official tournament’s main event. (Only 1 ticket per account regardless of re-entries)
Club events and leaderboards
With the APL brand’s success in the live field built via partnership with local poker communities across Asia, it was not surprising for these affiliates to be embedded in the official series. Six tournaments of different buy-ins feature the network’s partnership with these prime organizations namely Korea Series of Poker (KSOP), Chinese Texas Hold’em Poker Association (CTP), Wild Aces Poker, Vietnam Series of Poker (VSOP), Singapore Poker League (SPL) and Hong Kong Game Club (HKGC).
Moreover, a club winnings leaderboard for the series will be noted and tallied, rewarding the club with the most cashes.
Official APL Trophies for the winners
Coping with the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic, the brand is reaching to its players by awarding actual trophies to be sent out to all winners of the series events excluding the freeroll opening tournament. Confined in their respective homespaces, poker enthusiasts all over the globe are certainly missing the feel of live games. Receiving a trophy for taking down a tournament will inevitably raise spirits and serve as a reminder of how everyone got through this difficult time.
