This year has seen APL bring their fun brand of poker to various new destinations all over Asia. From Pampanga, Philippines to Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, then to Xi’An, China, at each stop, they’ve attracted players and created followers from all over the world to their tables. Last May, APL brought together the biggest Main Event field seen in Vietnam of 864 entries. That record still stands.

Returning to Vietnam once again, players will be treated to several new events starting with today’s exciting opener, the Deep Stack Open Main Event followed by the APL TOP GUN event.

Opening Event: Deep Stack Open

Deepstack Open

For the first time, APL and DSO have joined forces to bring you this exciting event. The DSO is known for their world-renowned deep structure, allowing players to see plenty of hands and play much longer. This is the first time the DSO is offered in Southeast Asia. It is a two-day event. Buy-in is VND 9,900,000 (~US$425) with unlimited re-entries. There are two starting flights to join the action. At the time of writing, they were halfway through level 3 of Flight A and nearing 80 entries.

Flight A – 1pm (local time)
Flight B (turbo) – 8pm (local time)

Players start with a 30,000 stack (300x the opening big blind). Blinds increase every 40 minutes for Flight A and every 15 minutes for Flight B. Late registration closes at the start of level 10. Both flights wrap up at the end of Level 13 and will return tomorrow for the final day. Blinds increase every 40 minutes on the final day.

*We will have live updates running at the start of Level 5. Recaps and combined chip counts will be provided at the end of the day.

New Event: APL TOP GUN (winner takes all)

Another new event to look forward to is the APL TOP GUN – winner takes all. This takes place tomorrow, November 16. Buy-in is VND 7,700,000. The winner can expect a very sweet pot and an inaugural APL title to boast of. One important reminder, the event uses the Big Blind Ante format (ante-first rule). It is the first of six events on the schedule utilizing this format.

MAIN EVENT – VND 8 BILLION GUARANTEED

If there is only one event you can attend, then the Main Event – VND 8 Billion Guaranteed should be your target. Don’t miss out on this pot. And if history is a basis for what’s to come, then expect a very big field.

The Main Event runs for seven days from November 18 to 24. Buy-in is VND 16,500,000 (~US$708). There are four starting days to give you plenty of chances to get closer to the pie. This event WILL NOT be using the Big Blind Ante format. Live updates will be running throughout the event.

Day 1A – Day 1D: November 18 to 21
Day 2: November 22
Day 3: November 23
Final 9: November 24

*All days begin at 1pm local time except the Final 9 which begins at 2pm.

Of course there are plenty of other games running simultaneously. You can view the schedule below. Somuchpoker will be here throughout to give bring you all the stories including live updates on the DSO and Main Event.
