APL Da Nang: Cards in the Air in the Main Event, Nguyen Hoang Linh wins Kick off

The first three days of the Asia Poker League Da Nang 2019 are in the books. We saw the conclusion of four events and the start of the prestigious VND 22,000,000 (~USD 944) Main Event.

The VND 11,000,000 (~USD 433) Kick Off Event was the opener for this poker festival in Da Nang. In total it saw 305 entries over three starting flights. 45 of those made it into the second and final day of the tournament with Taiwan’s En Ching Wu leading the way with 262,500 chips.

Everybody who made it into Day 2 was already in the money, securing themselves a min cash of VND 14,500,000 (~USD 623). Once the final table was reached the players were fighting for a little more than that.

Nguyen Hoang Linh from Vietnam was the one who beat the field at the end of the day, securing himself the trophy and VND 739,100,000 (~USD 31,743).

Event number 3 on the APL Vietnam schedule was Friday’s VND 5,500,000 (~USD 215) Hyper Turbo. It had a total of 42 entries which created a total prize pool of VND 203,700,000 (~USD 8,749).

Six spots were paid and amongst these we had one Vietnamese, one Singaporian and four Koreans.

Lee Jung Wook from Korea was the last man standing. His victory earned him VND 79,400,000 (~USD 3,410).

The KO Bounty Turbo event

Another event that finished yesterday was the VND 6,600,000 (~USD 284) KO Bounty Turbo event with VND 1,500,000 (~USD 65) per bounty. In total there were 110 entries, creating a prize pool of VND 475,200,000 (~USD 20,408). That excludes the bounty fund of VND 165,000,000 (~USD 7,087).

14 players made it into the money and Taiwan’s Li Shin Hung topped the field at the end of the day. He takes home a nice trophy, a couple of bounties and prize money of VND 142,400,000 (~USD 6,116).

But of course, all eyes are on the Main Event. After a total of four Day1s, Day 2 and Day 3 we will crown our champion here in Da Nang on 19th December.

Today saw the conclusion of Day 1A with a total of 71 entries.16 made it through with Ly Tran Tien from Vietnam as the chip leader, having amassed a whopping 333,000 chips to fight with in Day 2.

Amongst the players that will continue in this tournament is one of the new APL Ambassadors Sumit Sapra. The accomplished player from India brings 231,500 chips into Day 2.
